CULINARY ARTS MANAGEMENT


The Level 5  Higher Nationals Diploma (HND) is a two year course. During your first year you will study a Level 4 Higher Nationals Certificate (HNC). Upon successful completion of the first year, you will progress onto the second year to study the Level 5 HND which will then enable you to progress onto Level 6 Degree Top-Up programme at many Universities.

                                Summary

                                Higher National Diploma in Culinary Arts Management” is the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework’s Level 5 Professional Qualification, specializing in culinary arts and kitchen management.

                                The qualification allows you to hold the following positions – chef, restaurant manager, bar manager, food and beverage manager in a hotel, purchasing manager in a catering company.

                                The program was developed in the United Kingdom in 2017, allowing you to get the contemporary education of a future chef or cook technologist, who wants to develop the ability to create excellent food and be a good manager of a catering company.

                                Practical Work

                                Higher National Diploma in Culinary Arts Management” is a Regulated Qualification Framework Level 5 hospitality management education program developed and accredited in the UK (specialization “Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management”). The program was developed in the UK in 2017, allowing you to get the modern education needed by a future chef or a food technologist who wants to develop high-quality food preparation skills and professionalism in kitchen organization and management.

                                Higher National Diploma in  culinary arts and kitchen management

                                The Level 5 HND in culinary arts and kitchen management requires two years’ study with the College. Throughout the course, you will be required to complete 15 core, optional and specialized modules (eight in year 1 and seven in year 2).

                                To achieve the qualification, a student must have completed units equivalent to 120 credits at level 4 and 120 credits at level 5 and scored at least a pass in 105 credits at level 4 and 105 credits at level 5, amounting to 210 + credits.

                                Total Credits: Acquisition of the program will take 2 years or 4 semesters, during which 240 British credit points must be collected (equal to 120 ECTS)

                                Level 4 courses come in the form of 1st year of a bachelor's programme or HNC (Higher National Certificate). Depending on the type of associate degree a student may be able to start their 2nd year of bachelors (The course must be the same as the one they are applying for)

                                Level 5 courses come in the form of the 2nd year of a bachelor's programmes or an HND (Higher National Diploma). Depending on the Type of associate degree a student may be able to start their 3rd year of bachelors (The course must be the same as the one they are applying for)

                                Level 6 courses are the final component of a bachelor’s degree.

                                Students who successfully completed Higher National Diploma in culinary arts and kitchen management can progress onto Degree Top-Up programme at many universities such as the University of Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire New University, Teesside University, University of Sunderland, Buckinghamshire New University, University of Huddersfield, London Metropolitan University, Oxford Brookes University, University of Gloucestershire, University of Worcester, University of South Wales, Cambridge University, etc.

                                Profile of Students


                                Prime College examines the profile of potential students, assessing a person’s ability to master the program. To be eligible, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

                                • completed general secondary education;

                                • acquired professional or vocational education in the hospitality industry;

                                • work experience in the hospitality industry.

                                • Students who have not previously completed a course of education in English must demonstrate English language proficiency at B2 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​or present an IELTS 5.5 certificate or equivalent
